Laura E. Clemons
Writer Laura E. Clemons specializes in history and the arts, publishing articles and essays in academic and popular media, as well as book-length projects for select clients. A fourth-generation Floridian, she spent a few years in New York before moving to Tennessee to attend college, earning a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism. She has been a university publications director, an executive with a symphony orchestra, and a freelance writer and communications consultant, as well as a contributor to two University of Tennessee Press collections, one of which won the History Book of the Year award from the Tennessee Library Association. Clemons has supported the arts, literacy and local history by serving on the boards of directors/trustees of Art Round Tennessee, the Cookeville Arts Council, the Putnam County Library, and the White Plains Historic Home. She and her husband, John, live in a small log cabin in a hardwood forest at the back of an old family farm in rural Tennessee.
